During our test of the voice control feature of the Garmin 760LMT-D, we were once more very impressed by its efficiency. With this model, you simply have to say “Voice control” and the Sat nav will display a list of the voice activated controls available. You can then of course plan an itinerary, or set the volume to the desired level, or even control the screen brightness.

Something we like about this Motorhome Sat nav

The Garmin 760 LMT D comes with a technology called “Garmin Real Directions” which is a feature that can only be found with this brand's sat nav systems. With this feature, the sat nav is able to guide you as a real person would. Indeed, this is quite impressive as the system will say for example “Turn right after the petrol station” . In other words, the system is able to give you directions using real landmarks.

To avoid the “robot-style” voice that we used to get on older sat nav systems, the manufacturer has also included a feature called “Garmin Real Voice” which offers a more natural and pleasant voice, close to the one of a real person.

Hands free phone system included

As with many caravan and campervan sat navs these days, this model allows the user to connect a mobile phone via Bluetooth. You can then make calls directly from the sat nav’s screen leaving your mobile phone in your pocket on in the glove compartment of your car or campervan.

On this Garmin 760 LMT-D, the hands free phone offers quite good quality with the built-in speaker. The built-in microphone however does not offer the same level of quality you can get with a dedicated device such as ones which come with a remote microphone (like the hands-free systems from Parrot for example.)

Compatible with a reversing camera

This Camper 760LMT-D is compatible with the official Garmin wireless camera BC20 which is however sold separately. Once connected, this camera allows the sat nav to display the video signal on the screen when you engage reverse gear.
