The Avtex Tourer Three is a slightly different proposition to the rest of our line-up: it's built by Garmin under licence for Avtex, and co-developed with the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Under the badge it runs the same core camper-routing engine as the Garmin devices we already rate highly - but it adds an exclusive Club campsite database you won't find preloaded on a standard Garmin.
If you're already a Club member, that's a genuine reason to consider this over the plain Garmin Camper 795. If you're not, the 795 remains the simpler choice - same routing quality, slightly larger 7-inch screen, and a brand you'll recognise on the shelf.
Vehicle-specific routing for your caravan or motorhome
Like every sat nav in this category, the Tourer Three asks you to enter your outfit's size and weight when you set it up, then plans routes that avoid low bridges, weight-restricted roads and anything else your vehicle can't physically take. It adds speed-limit display for your vehicle type, elevation profiles, sharp-bend warnings, and routing around environmental (low-emission) zones - useful if you're touring city centres in Europe.
The Club campsite database is the real reason to buy this one
Alongside the databases you'd expect - ACSI, Trailer's Park, CamperContact and the Michelin Green Guide, covering over 9,000 sites across the UK and Europe with TripAdvisor ratings built in - the Tourer Three preloads the Caravan and Motorhome Club's own site database, including Club sites, Certificated Sites and European Club sites. That's genuinely exclusive: it isn't available on a standard Garmin, TomTom or Aguri device, and it's the single clearest reason a Club member would pick this over the rest of our list.
Screen, maps and free updates
The screen is a 6.95-inch frameless HD capacitive touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom - a touch smaller than the Camper 795's 7 inches, though you're unlikely to notice the difference day to day. Maps cover the UK and Europe in full, with free lifetime updates via PC, Mac or Wi-Fi, plus BirdsEye satellite imagery for scouting a destination before you arrive.
Hands-free calling, voice control and traffic
The Tourer Three pairs over Bluetooth for hands-free calling and smart notifications, responds to voice commands for route planning and settings, and includes traffic jam detection with alternate-route suggestions to route you around hold-ups.
Reversing camera compatible - dash cam is the Plus model
The standard Tourer Three works with Avtex's wireless backup camera as an optional extra, same as most of the market. If you want a built-in 1080p dash cam as well, Avtex sells a Tourer Three Plus with one fitted (plus a 16GB microSD card) - worth knowing about even though it's not the model we're reviewing here.

Avtex Tourer Three: Our opinion
This one comes down to a single question: are you a Caravan and Motorhome Club member? If you are, the exclusive Club site database makes the Tourer Three genuinely worth considering over the plain Garmin Camper 795 - you're getting the same dependable routing plus data you can't get anywhere else. If you're not a Club member, that advantage disappears and the 795 is the more straightforward buy: marginally bigger screen, better brand recognition, and the same core technology underneath. Either way, you're not compromising on the fundamentals - this is Garmin hardware under a different badge.
