Garmin Camper 1095 Review - The 10-inch Motorhome and Caravan Sat Nav

Our rating: ★★★★☆ 4.4 / 5

Last updated: July 2026

Note: this page previously covered the Garmin Camper 660LMT-D, which has been replaced. The largest model in Garmin's current camper range is the 10-inch Camper 1095, which is what we review here.

The Camper 1095 is the biggest sat nav in the range - a genuinely tablet-sized 10-inch screen. Underneath it's the same device as the Camper 795 and 895: identical camper routing, POIs and guidance. So, as with the 895, the review really comes down to one question - do you have the cab (and the budget) to justify a screen this large?

Who is the 10-inch Camper 1095 for?

This one is more specialist. It earns its place in:

For most caravanners and van-conversion owners it's more screen than you need - the 795 or 895 will be a better fit and better value. But in the right big-motorhome cab, the 1095 is superb.

Specific itineraries for your vehicle's weight and size

Drivers should pay attention to these road signs even when using a very efficient caravan and motorhome sat nav.

Like the rest of the camper range, the 1095 routes you according to the size and weight of your motorhome or caravan, using detailed European maps that include bridge heights, weight limits and narrow roads. Enter your vehicle profile in the startup configurator and it plans compatible routes and warns you of hazards along the way. Multiple vehicle profiles can be saved and switched between.

Guidance at its clearest

The Garmin Camper 1095 offers a junction view and lane guidance feature on a 10-inch screen.

Everything Garmin's guidance does well - Active Lane Guidance, PhotoReal junction views, "Real Directions" and "Real Voice" - is here, and on a 10-inch panel it's about as clear and easy to read as in-dash navigation gets. Complex motorway interchanges in particular are much less stressful when the junction graphic is this big.

Free traffic and lifetime map updates

As across the range, map updates are free for the life of the device and download over the built-in Wi-Fi with no computer needed. Live traffic and services come through your paired smartphone via the free Garmin Drive app - no subscription, but it does use your phone's data, so watch your allowance abroad.

Campsite POIs, TripAdvisor and points of interest

The 1095 includes the same campsite databases from ACSI and CamperContact, with a campsite search you can filter by facilities such as electric hook-up or Wi-Fi. Nearby restaurants, shops and services come with TripAdvisor ratings and reviews on-screen - and there's plenty of room to read them on this display.

Hands-free calling and voice control

Voice control ("Voice command") lets you plan routes and adjust settings hands-free, and a Bluetooth-paired phone can show notifications, read messages aloud and handle hands-free calls through the built-in speaker. Call quality is fine, if not up to a dedicated factory-fitted system.

Optional reversing camera

The Camper 1095 works with Garmin's wireless reversing cameras (BC30 / BC40), sold separately - and a reversing view on a 10-inch screen is genuinely useful when manoeuvring a large motorhome.

The Strengths of this Caravan and Motorhome Sat nav

The Weaknesses of this Caravan and Motorhome Sat nav

Garmin Camper 1095: Our opinion

The Camper 1095 is the most impressive camper sat nav to look at and use - but it's also the most situational. In a large A-class or coachbuilt motorhome, that 10-inch screen is a real pleasure and makes big-junction navigation noticeably less stressful, and we'd happily recommend it. For most caravanners and campervan owners, though, it's more screen (and more money) than you need, and the Camper 795 or 895 will serve you better for less. Buy the 1095 because you specifically want the biggest screen and have the cab for it - not by default.
